Raspberry Smoothie Bowl

A couple weeks ago I posted this recipe on Instagram after I whipped it up for a mid-day snack. I later realized that I should probably go ahead and just post it on the blog for everyone.

I really do love a good smoothie bowl. They are incredibly satisfying and a fun way to incorporate a lot of nutrients in to one dish.

Although a lot of bowls use Acai as the base I decided to switch things up and make one with raspberry. I really love how tart raspberries are and they are fairly low in sugar. For a mid-day snack I prefer to not have a major sugar crash.

I always consider smoothie bowl recipes to be a template. You can easily switch out ingredients and toppings for your favorite items.

My favorite new addition though is that Dr. Cowan’s Beet Powder. It is a combination of THREE different beets – Detroit Red, Chiogga and Golden. It is incredibly sweet and highly nutritious. One teaspoon of this stuff is a large serving of vegetables. If you are looking to add some more nutrients to your dishes I highly recommend these powders! P.S – this is the same powder I use in my Chocolate Beet Cup recipe.

So next time you have that mid-day ice cream craving (surely I am not the only one) I would recommend throwing together a nutritious smoothie bowl instead!

Enjoy!
